About Me

Standard

I was born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia, PA. I graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School, where I was a member of the boys’ soccer team and the boys’ track and field team. I then went on to attend and graduate from DeSales University with a Bachelors of Science from the Business Department.  At DeSales University, I was also a member of the mens’ track and field team, as well as the President of the Sports Management Society.

I went on to accept a position as graduate assistant track coach at Widener University.  While at Widener University, I received my Master’s of Education in Counselor Education.  After the completion of my Master’s Degree, I worked at CORA Services as a Family Preservation Coordinator at one of their Beacon Center sites.

My first assignment with the Philadelphia School District was counselor at South Philadelphia High School.  During my time at South Philadelphia High School, I was instrumental in dealing with the crisis the school experienced on December 3, 2009.  I took charge of creating and implementing a diversity curriculum that started the healing and understanding processes between both groups.  I then continued to create and implement ideas and strategies to turn around the culture of the school.  I helped to design a new Student Assistant Program tracking system, to better identify the interventions being used, and help the school move towards their Community School Model. I also co-authored the K-12 School Counseling Plan for the School District of Philadelphia.

I was then assigned to Widener Memorial School where I counseled the areas students with most complex medical and fragility needs.

I am currently an Assistant Principal at Springfield Township High School.  Where I am in charge of Student Activities, as well as other duties.

I was a part-time Lecturer at Gwynedd Mercy University in their Graduate School of Education.

I served on the Human Relation Commission in Lansdowne, PA

I live in Drexel Hill, PA with my wife, Heather, and our sons, Joseph & Nicholas.
